Company roles

SILENT HILL: Townfall is developed by Screen Burn Interactive and co-published by KONAMI and Annapurna Interactive. Listing only Annapurna or only KONAMI as publisher leaves out part of the official partnership.

Screen Burn and No Code

Screen Burn is a Glasgow-based studio formerly known as No Code. Its earlier games include Stories Untold and Observation, both known for narrative design and interaction with slightly outdated technology. The studio announced Townfall in 2022 under its earlier identity.

That background directly informs the CRTV. Screen Burn wanted to evolve the series’ passive radio into a device the player actively raises, tunes and interprets. The team used its experience with analog interfaces and video distortion to make the object central to storytelling, stealth and puzzles.

Why the setting is Scottish

Writer-director Jon McKellan says Scotland is the environment the team knows. Developers photographed coastal settlements and drew on fog, stone architecture, steep lanes and community history. The goal was a persuasive location rather than an imitation of the American town from earlier entries.

Annapurna and KONAMI

Annapurna Interactive brings its narrative-game publishing background and describes Townfall as one of the larger games it has published. KONAMI owns the Silent Hill series and works through series producer Motoi Okamoto. The 2026 official Transmission presents Townfall as a collaboration across all three organizations.

Screen Burn is a relatively small team; the Transmission describes about 30 people at that point in development. That figure is an interview snapshot, not a permanent employee count. Budget, contract terms and sales targets remain private.
