SILENT HILL: Townfall Story and Timeline Explained

Confirmed time and place

SILENT HILL: Townfall is set in Scotland in 1996. Its location, St. Amelia, is a fictional isolated island town inspired by real Scottish coastal settlements. Fog, steep streets, weathered stone and the feeling of a community cut off from escape shape the setting.

The game is a self-contained story. No official source has placed its events at a precise point relative to Silent Hill, Silent Hill 2 or Silent Hill f beyond the stated year. A fan chronology should therefore avoid inventing direct character or town connections.

Simon’s arrival

Simon Ordell is called back to St. Amelia to “put things right.” He arrives with an IV bag and a medical wristband bearing his name, yet the town does not feel familiar to him. Official footage shows him waking near the water and following voices received through the CRTV.

His uncertainty is intentional. Writer-director Jon McKellan identifies guilt as a central Silent Hill theme and says Townfall examines different ways guilt can form, affect people and possibly be accepted or resolved.

Zoe’s confirmed role

Zoe is a St. Amelia resident and a nurse at a local family clinic. Her voice reaches Simon through static, asking him to return while also questioning why he is there. That contradiction establishes the central mystery without confirming what happened between them.

CRTV signals and puzzles reveal material connected to Zoe and the island’s past. Because Screen Burn designed puzzles together with the story, an environmental solution may also explain a character or event.

What the timeline does not confirm

The official material does not reveal Simon’s past act, Zoe’s fate, the cause of St. Amelia’s condition or the final meaning of the Otherworld. It also does not confirm a direct link to James Sunderland, the original town of Silent Hill or a film timeline.

Those unknowns are story spoilers, not missing facts to be filled by speculation. This page will separate post-launch evidence from pre-release statements when the game becomes available.
